Helping Hands-East Style

Paparazzi Queen & King, Lisa King & Robert Rattray found roaming at the event.

Today at Newstead Heights School, was a Stake Service Project Activity where we worked in teams to cut & laminate & cut again pages for communication books for individuals who attend the school. There were approximately 100 different pages for each book. Each page filled with a table of different pictures which depicted everything you could possibly think of. Not all the books were exactly the same as they are designed to suit the individual. Many of us tried using these pages to communicate with each other at the tables. It wasn't as easy as you think. Lots of chit chat & laughs were had by many, especially a certain crew of East Ward Sisters. This particular crew had trouble with laminators. The 1st ate one of the pages as it didn't spit out the other end, the 2nd wasn't heating up enough to laminate & the 3rd (just like in the fairytale) was just right & just in case you're wondering it was NOT the operator.
There was a special visit by 'Lucille' to many tables, who just happened to be hanging around the school & was keen to help & check out what everybody was doing.
Who is Lucille, you ask, well you will have to wait for the next post as she is a bit shy at the moment & won't show her face on this spot, mainly because there seems to be a slight technical problem rIghT NOW and the editor is tired.

Stake Enrichment Night

Ahoy me lassies, there be a treasure map to follow & last night we found gold, clues to hidden treasures, & apple pies with that thar yummy whipped cream, arrr! The Enirchment theme was 'Eternal Treasures', Learn from the past, prepare for the future & live in the present. Topics covered were Literacy & Education, Physical Education, Home Production & Storage, Social, Emotional & Spiritual Strength & Financial Management, presented by various sisters & a couple of brethren. It was all about us 'MOVING FORWARD'. "For where your treasure is there will your heart be also"...Matt 6:19-21 The big question, 'R we there yet'? No, but we are well on our way. Sister Kylie marked out a path on the floor, our path in this life, & through it was scattered some of lifes challenges, trials we have along our path. At the end of the path was the Holy Ghost & as an example Sister Deidre was blindfolded & guided by Sister Sasha to the end of the path. Thankfully Sister Deidre listened to the voice that was guiding her and did not tread on the drawing pins or custard tart. Yay! Well done to those sisters who made the night so informative & uplifting, thank you.
